• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: Coeval with the Laoyemiao Fm and underlying the Early Permian Kalagang Fm. THICKNESS: The Hongguleleng Fm forms the lower 25 m of a section of about 35 m thick. AGE: Based on faunal correlations with well-constrained units elsewhere in China, using miospores and brachiopods. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: HISTORY: Previously referred to as the Lower Carboniferous Hebukeke Fm (Wu 1991).
