• This unit is 1430 feet thick. The bed label is given as feet from the base of the section to the base of the unit containing this collection. PJW: Given Macrostrat, this should be the Mattson formation.

Environment/lithology: coastal; lithified, fine-grained, medium, gray, white sandstone and lithified shale

• "Sandstone, white to yellowish gray, weathering yellowish gray; fine to medium grained, in part quartzitic; ripple marks and cross bedding common. Intervals of 200-300 feet of clean yellowish light gray cliff-forming sandstones are common. The massive sandstones are separated by thin-bedded sandstones and shaly intervals whic are recessive, weathering into gullies, wher rock is poorly exposed. Sparingly fossiiferous."
