When: unit 3 Member (Puerto Blanco Formation), Botomian (516.0 - 512.9 Ma)

• interval CR-1 in the lower part of unit 3

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: reef, buildup or bioherm; lithified reef rocks

• wave-resistent bioherms in a tidally dominated, shelf-margin setting seaward of a carbonate barrier
• archaeocyathan framework with encrusting renalcids and abundant fibrous cements; internal sediment consists of pink lime mud with sponge spicules

Size classes: macrofossils, mesofossils

Collection methods: peel or thin section,

• skeletal debris along the external parts of the buildup consists of fragments of trilobites, hyoliths, archaeocyaths, brachiopods, Chancelloria spicules and rare echinoderm plates
