• LITHOSTRATIGRAPHY: Fossil Bluff Formation. AGE: Late Albian, based on nearby Lechites occurrences. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Collection lies within upper c. 1.2 km of the approximately 4 km thick formation.

Environment/lithology: marine; lithified mudstone

• TECTONIC SETTING: "from forearc environment".
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Unknown lithology, probably mudstone. Formation includes "mainly mudstones, tuffaceous sandstones, and conglomerates". LITHIFICATION: Lithified, based on figured specimens, many of which remain encased in matrix.
