Environment/lithology: marine; lithified, concretionary, black, gray, calcareous, carbonaceous shale and lithified, black, gray, carbonaceous limestone

• dark gray to black , hard, calcareous shales, and black or dark gray limestones in beds of variable thickness.

•bituminous throughout, contains ellipsoidal limestone concretinos of varying size. in this area, calcareous shales form the bulk of the formation.
