GSC 4676 - Jones Ridge Limestone, Jones Ridge-Squaw Mountain area (Cambrian of the United States)

Where: Alaska (65.1° N, 141.0° W: paleocoordinates 7.8° N, 60.6° W)

• coordinate stated in text

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Lower Member (Jones Ridge Limestone Formation), Dresbachian (497.0 - 485.4 Ma)

• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From Jones Ridge Limestone (Early-Late Cambrian), which regionally underlies an unamed unit of Early Ordovician age and is approximately correlative to the Hillard Limestone. AGE: Dresbachian on occurence of faunal assemblages similar to that of the Dunderbergia zone of the Great Basin. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Unknown position in formation, presumably from lower member.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: lithified limestone

• ENVIRONMENT: Carbonate deposition, intermittent turbulent conditions.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Unknown specific lithology, presumably limestone. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, based on age and facies.

Size class: macrofossils

Reposited in the GSC

• COLLECTOR: Unknown collecters. REPOSITORY: GSC.
