564.64 m bed, GSC loc. C167148, Amoco Conrad (Cretaceous to of Canada)

Where: Alberta, Canada (49.5° N, 112.2° W: paleocoordinates 52.5° N, 72.3° W)

• coordinate estimated from map

• hand sample-level geographic resolution

When: Second White Specks Formation (Colorado Group), Early/Lower Turonian to Early/Lower Turonian (93.5 - 89.3 Ma)

• Hedbergella loetterlei Zone (Caldwell et al., 1978); meters indicate depth at which sample was taken

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: offshore; lithified, calcareous siltstone

• warm, normal-marine waters;low energy, anoxic conditions; sea-level highstand
• well laminated, non bioturbated sediments

Size class: microfossils

Reposited in the GSC

Collection methods: core, chemical, smear slide,

• foraminiferal analysis utilizing the method of Then and Dougherty (1983) and washed over a 0.065 mm sieve; nannofossils were analyzed using the techniques from Edwards (1963), Stover (1966), Gartner (1968) and Smith (1981); standard acid processing techniques (Barss and Williams, 1973) were used followed by heavy liquid flotation and sieving to concentrate the dinoflagellates in the >0.045 and the 0.020-0.045 mm fractions
