When: Manchar Formation, Serravallian (13.8 - 11.6 Ma)

• "more than 13 my old" and substantially less than "15 or 16 my old" (probably equivalent to Serravallian)

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: fluvial; silty sandstone

• this part of the section consists almost entirely of "sandstone , often silty" that is "frequently trough cross-bedded"
