Where: Xinjiang, China (41.0° N, 84.0° E: paleocoordinates 38.9° N, 75.8° E)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• local area-level geographic resolution
When: Lower Member (Qimugen Formation), Late/Upper Paleocene (58.7 - 55.8 Ma)
• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the lower member of the Qimugen Fm, which overlies the Aetashi Fm (Early Paleocene), and is overlain by the upper member of the Qimugen Fm (Early Eocene), and the Kalatar Fm (Middle Eocene). AGE: Late Eocene. Justification not stated, but presumably through macrofossil and microfossil biostratigraphy. Pollen present. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From beds within lower member of the formation.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; lithified, shelly/skeletal limestone and lithified, silty mudstone
Size class: macrofossils
Reposited in the NIGPAS
• COLLECTOR: Not stated, but presumably X. Lan and J. M. Wei (1980's). REPOSITORY: Probably Nanjing Inst. of Geol. and Pal., Academia Sinica.
