Where: Lincoln County, Nevada (37.9° N, 114.5° W: paleocoordinates 3.3° S, 93.1° W)
• local area-level geographic resolution
When: Glossopleura zone, Chisholm Shale Formation, Solvan (510.2 - 504.5 Ma)
• All mine/pit excavations are from the same thin stratigraphic interval of approximately 9-11 meters below the contact between the Chisholm and the massive Highland Peak Formation at Chisholm Mine. The shale producing the fossils has very few "worm" burrows.
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: lithified, yellow shale
Collection methods: All specimens are flattened which distort shape, morphology, and plate relationships.
