Hubei Province [Shuijingtuo Fm] (Cambrian of China)

Where: China (30.8° N, 111.3° E: paleocoordinates 25.4° N, 159.3° E)

When: Shuijingtuo Formation, Atdabanian (521.0 - 516.0 Ma)

• Sample was a fallen block in a roadside quarry about 250m south of the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary as locally defined withing the Tianzhushan member of the Dengying Formation.

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; intraclastic limestone

• the formation is predominantly clastic, but carbonate horizons have not revealed many specimens.

Collection methods: Specimens are mostly isolated sclerites, but there are rare occurances of fused preservation. The sclerites are relatively small as comparred to other cambroclave specimens (350-450 um in length).
