• found as loose blocks, but later (Kendall 1908) identified as coming from layer about 6 m above base of formation

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: fluvial-deltaic; sideritic, ooidal, red sandstone and claystone

• "oolitic sandstone"; "very fine-grained", "pale sandstone" associated with ripple-marks, sun-cracks, andrain-pittings", also described as a "freestone"

Brodrick 1907: "The two casts which I wish to refer to were found at Saltwick on two separate rocks, which had evidently fallen from the cliff above, they were both close to the cottage, and in fact, one had been used as a portion of a flight of steps leading to a table used by Mrs. Agar's visitors for tea."
