Where: Alberta, Canada (49.6° N, 114.7° W: paleocoordinates 57.6° N, 79.5° W)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Campanian (83.6 - 72.1 Ma)
• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the "Allison" Fm, which conformably overlies dark Alberta shales. Leach (1912) stated that "It is possible that these beds are equivalent to the Belly River series but, as no fossils were found it was decided to use the above name provisionally." The name Allison Fm is osolete, being replaced by the Belly River Fm, but this too is now inappropriate. AGE: Late Cretaceous; though here assigned to Campanian on the basis of faunal composition. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From 100 ft above base of section.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
