Also known as Bahía de Santa Fé
Where: Venezuela (9.0° N, 63.5° W: paleocoordinates 8.6° N, 31.5° W)
• coordinate based on political unit
• small collection-level geographic resolution
When: Taguarumo Member (Barranquín Formation), Barremian (129.4 - 125.0 Ma)
• "[The material] was collected from several different limestone horizons of the Barranquin Fm. in the upper two-thirds of the section exposed at Santa Fe. There are almost 1000 meters of section between oldest and the youngest fossiliferous horizons. However, no zonation of species was noticed and the same forms that are present in the youngest horizon are found in the oldest fossil bed."
•JA: closest correlation is with "Neocomian or possibly Barremian" faunas of Europe, but because there "seems to be no hiatus between the Barranquín and the overlying Lower Aptian El Cantil formation, the Barranquín formation probably also represents the Barremian"
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: marine; lithified limestone
