Aferdou N'Chaft (Cretaceous of Morocco)

Also known as Hassi El Begaa

Where: DrĂ¢a-Tafilalet, Morocco (30.9° N, 3.9° W: paleocoordinates 17.8° N, 3.9° W)

• coordinate stated in text

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Kem Kem Group, Early/Lower Cenomanian (99.6 - 93.5 Ma)

• Fossils were collected from an "approximately 2m thick horizon"; age of the Kem Kem is poorly constrained, but a Cenomanian age is supported by vertebrate biostratigraphy

•See revised palaeontology and geology of the Kem Kem beds in Ibrahim et al. 2020

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: fluvial; fine-grained sandstone

• "reddish brown layer of fine, loosely adhesive sandstone"
