Where: San Juan, Argentina (31.6° S, 68.5° W: paleocoordinates 41.1° S, 126.5° W)

When: Glyptagnostus reticulatus trilobite zone, Los Sombreros Formation (Los Sombreros Group), Idamean (497.0 - 494.0 Ma)

• Sequence of almost 1,000m thick, Ordovician depositional age, although olistolite is Cambrian.

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: offshore ramp; lithified, conglomeratic, calcareous shale and lithified limestone

• Cambrian material is Precordilleran
• Talus association of shale and thinly bedded limestone with olistolites, olistostromes, calcareous breccias and channel conglomerates.

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: original calcite
