Sister taxa: Megapeomys bobwilsoni, Megapeomys lavocati
Type specimen: SNMP 7343233a, a tooth (p4 inf. sin.). Its type locality is Dolnice 1, which is in a MN 4 fluvial-lacustrine siltstone in the Czech Republic.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution: found only at Dolnice 1
