Type specimen: PVSJ 567, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Valle Pintado, Hoyada de Ischigualasto, which is in a Carnian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Ischigualasto Formation of Argentina.

Distribution: found only at Valle Pintado, Hoyada de Ischigualasto
