Type specimen: NCSM 21723, an osteoderm (incomplete carapace consisting of all or parts of 10 paramedian and nine lateral osteoderms from the first 10 rows of the carapace and some associated osteoderm). Its type locality is NCPALEO1902 - brick quarry, which is in a Carnian fluvial conglomerate/sandstone in the Pekin Formation of North Carolina.

Distribution: found only at NCPALEO1902 - brick quarry
