Type specimen: TPM7847-1, a partial skull (cranium was found with sev- eral skeletal elements, including tympanic bullae, isolated teeth and fragments of postcranial bones,). Its type locality is Utsunomiya, which is in a Tortonian marine horizon in the Ogane Formation of Japan.
