Sister taxon: Dendrorhynchoides curvidentatus
Type specimen: JZMP-04-07-03; originally GLGMV 0002, a skeleton. Its type locality is Mutoudeng, which is in a Bathonian/Kimmeridgian lacustrine shale in the Tiaojishan Formation of China.
Distribution: found only at Mutoudeng
