Belongs to Mesotaphraspis according to H. B. Whittington and W.R., II. Evitt 1953
Sister taxa: Mesotaphraspis bockeliei, Mesotaphraspis dalfaskensis, Mesotaphraspis parva
Type specimen: USNM 116539. Its type locality is Loc. 1. Tumbling Run, 2 miles southwest of Strasburg, which is in a Blackriveran carbonate limestone in the Lincolnshire Limestone Formation of Virginia.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder
Distribution: found only at Loc. 1. Tumbling Run, 2 miles southwest of Strasburg
