Type specimens:

  • Leptalestes prokrejcii: UALVP 14817, a maxilla (left fragmentary maxilla with M1-2). Its type locality is Irvine microvertebrate site, which is in a Judithian terrestrial horizon in the Dinosaur Park Formation of Canada.
  • Pediomys fassetti: UNM B1734. Its type locality is Fossil Forest Quarry 1, which is in an Edmontonian terrestrial horizon in New Mexico.

Ecology: scansorial omnivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Canada (3: Alberta collections), United States (3: Montana, New Mexico)

Total: 6 collections each including a single occurrence
