Sister taxon: Sinocricetus zdanskyi
Type specimen: IVVP V11914, a maxilla (dext. with M1-3). Its type locality is Bilike, which is in a Pliocene lacustrine horizon in China.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution: found only at Bilike
