Type specimens:

  • Zaraalestes minutus: AMNH 19135, a mandible (dext. with p3-m1).
  • Ictopidium tatalgolensis: Z. Pal Mgm-III/4, a mandible (dext. with i1-p2, p4-m3). Its type locality is Khatan Khayrkhan, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in Mongolia.
