Type specimen: LACM 153284, a mandible (partial left dentary with i-m3). Its type locality is Smith Valley (LACM 7685), which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in the Coal Valley Formation of Nevada.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution: found only at Smith Valley (LACM 7685)
