Type specimen: University of Antananarivo 8679, a partial skeleton (complete skull and anterior portion of postcranial skeleton). Its type locality is MAD98-17 (SUNY), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Maevarano Formation of Madagascar.
