Sister taxa: Heterocricetodon gaimersheimensis, Heterocricetodon hausi, Heterocricetodon landroveri, Heterocricetodon schlosseri, Heterocricetodon serbicus, Heterocricetodon stehlini
Type specimen: MU7, a set of teeth. Its type locality is Mümliswil Hartberg, which is in a MP 26 terrestrial horizon in Switzerland.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Oligocene of France (2 collections), Switzerland (1)
Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
