Type specimen: CNHM (FMNH) UR 14, a partial skeleton (skull, lower jaws, six anterior vertebrae and partial shoulder girdle). Its type locality is Locality KF (Middle Vale Formation), which is in a Kungurian channel conglomerate/siliciclastic in the Vale Formation of Texas.
