Sister taxon: Rhinesuchoides capensis
Type specimens:
- Rhinesuchoides tenuiceps: UC 1519, a skull. Its type locality is Stinkfontein, Prince Albert, which is in a Capitanian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
- Rhinesuchus rubidgei: RC 73, a skull. Its type locality is Wimbledon, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution:
• Permian of South Africa (2 collections)
Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
