Type specimen: HP 100094a,b, a valve (Right valve, external and internal moulds). Its type locality is Festningen, Unit 11, Spitsbergen (1989-91 coll), which is in a Wuchiapingian marine shale in the Kapp Starostin Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.
