Type specimen: USNM 221269, a valve (Ventral valve). Its type locality is Locality 6, Block A, mule trail between El Portachuelo and Mucuchachi, which is in a Kungurian open shallow subtidal wackestone in the Palmarito Formation of Venezuela.

Distribution: found only at Locality 6, Block A, mule trail between El Portachuelo and Mucuchachi
