Belongs to Tarimathyris according to Z. Q. Chen and G. R. Shi 2006
Sister taxa: Tarimathyris discusella, Tarimathyris minima, Tarimathyris ovaloides, Tarimathyris postambigua
Type specimen: Tohoku Univ IGPS109043. Its type locality is Qipan River section, Bed 3, AET 853, Qipan Formation, Tarim Basin, which is in a Kungurian marine sandstone in the Qipan Formation of China.
