Type specimens:
- Neokentroceras subtuberculatum: BMNH C.20042, a shell. Its type locality is Locality 292, Canyon E. of Old Lobito, which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in Angola.
- Neokentroceras choffati: Its type locality is Catumbella (Couches à Schloenbachia inflata), which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in the Catumbela Formation of Angola.
