Type specimen: IVPP V 11944, a skeleton (part and counterpart of complete skeleton). Its type locality is Daohugou (IVPP collection), which is in a Callovian lacustrine - large shale/tuff in the Tiaojishan Formation of China.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Daohugou (IVPP collection)
