Type specimen: WM 400/97a, b, a skeleton (ventral and dorsal impressions of a partially articulated skeleton). Its type locality is Mahenge, which is in a Lutetian crater lake mudstone/shale in Tanzania.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at Mahenge
