Sister taxon: Philisis sevketi
Type specimen: YPM 34488, a maxilla (right maxilla with P4-M3). Its type locality is Quarry I (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian fluvial sandstone/mudstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.
Ecology: volant insectivore
Distribution: found only at Quarry I (Jebel Qatrani Formation)
