Type specimen: SAM 5884, a partial skeleton (incl. palate and partial lower jaws). Its type locality is Aliwal North Area, Cynognathus B, which is in an Anisian terrestrial horizon in the Burgersdorp Formation of South Africa.

Ecology: herbivore

Distribution: found only at Aliwal North Area, Cynognathus B
