Sister taxa: Knoxiella infirma, Knoxiella oblonga, Knoxiella rutkowskiae, Knoxiella truncata, Knoxiella vardarensis, Knoxiella xinhuaensis
Type specimen: P6M2236, a carapace. Its type locality is Bulla section BU1A, ostracod unit, Ortisei, which is in a Changhsingian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal marl/dolomite in the Bellerophon Formation of Italy.
