Type specimen: Q.V. 619, a mandible (left mandible preserving the alveoli for the lower canine, P2, P3, and M3 and the crowns of P4, M1, and M2). Its type locality is Prajous, which is in an Eocene terrestrial phosphorite in France.
Distribution: found only at Prajous
