Type specimens:

  • Platychoerops richardsoni: York Museum 520, a maxilla (palate with second and third true molars of both sides, and on the right side the fourth premolar and alveoli of pm3 and m1). Its type locality is Herne Bay (London Clay), which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the London Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
  • Miolophus planiceps:
