Type specimen: IVPP V10697.1-1, -2, a partial skull (crushed snout and left mandible). Its type locality is Changle Coal Mine, which is in an Eocene terrestrial coal in the Wutu Formation of China.

Ecology: arboreal herbivore

Distribution: found only at Changle Coal Mine
