Sister taxon: Pseudopermophorus uedai
Type specimen: USNM 140506, a shell (Bivalved). Its type locality is Hidden Pastures (Franson Mb), Big Sheep Canyon, Beaverhead County, which is in a Wuchiapingian shallow subtidal limestone in the Park City Formation of Montana.
Ecology: facultatively mobile infaunal suspension feeder
