Sister taxa: Valcouroceras bovinum, Valcouroceras cyclops, Valcouroceras holtedahli, Valcouroceras obesum, Valcouroceras seelyi, Valcouroceras tenuiseptum

Type specimen: a specimen in the USNM, a shell. Its type locality is Valcour Island, Lake Champlain, "Middle Chazy Limestone", which is in a Chazyan carbonate limestone in the Crown Point Formation of New York.

Ecology: fast-moving nektobenthic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Valcour Island, Lake Champlain, "Middle Chazy Limestone"
