Sister taxa: Phormocyrtis cubense, Phormocyrtis striata, Phormocyrtis turgida
Type specimen: R122, a test. Its type locality is Q08/f555, Matakohe Quarry [Mahurangi Limestone], which is in an Oligocene marine limestone in the Mahurangi Limestone Formation of New Zealand.

• Oligocene of New Zealand (2 collections)
Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
