Type specimen: USNM 497740, a partial skull. Its type locality is Cherokee-Sanford Brick Clay Pit (USNM Loc. 41614, 41615), which is in an Aptian wet floodplain claystone/claystone in the Arundel Clay Formation of Maryland.

Distribution: found only at Cherokee-Sanford Brick Clay Pit (USNM Loc. 41614, 41615)
