Sister taxa: Limnodynastes dumerili, Limnodynastes tasmaniensis
Type specimen: SAM P23054, a limb element (incomplete left ilium). Its type locality is Tedford Locality, Lake Palankarinna, which is in an Oligocene lacustrine horizon in the Etadunna Formation of Australia.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at Tedford Locality, Lake Palankarinna
