Sister taxon: Liaoxitriton daohugouensis
Type specimen: IVPP V11582, a skeleton (part and counterpart of articulated skeleton). Its type locality is Sajiaocheng, Huludao City (Jiufotang Formation), which is in an Aptian terrestrial shale in the Jiufotang Formation of China.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at Sajiaocheng, Huludao City (Jiufotang Formation)
