Type specimens:

  • Aetosauroides scagliai: PVL 2073, a set of postcrania (Articulated partial carapace and vertebral column, limbs). Its type locality is Hoyada de Ischiqualasto, upper third, which is in a Carnian/Norian terrestrial horizon in the Ischigualasto Formation of Argentina.
  • Aetosauroides inhamandensis:
  • Aetosauroides subsulcatus: MCP 13a-b-PV, a partial skeleton.

Ecology: planktonic herbivore

Distribution:

• Triassic of Argentina (4 collections), Brazil (1)
