Type specimen: NMMNH P-32793, an osteoderm (paramedian plate). Its type locality is Snyder Quarry, NMMNH 3845-1, which is in a Lacian/Sevatian crevasse splay mudstone/wackestone in the Chinle Formation of New Mexico.
